An interesting 18th century flintlock pistol, possibly American. Seller's lists B. Homer as "unlocated flintlock dueling pistols (English)?" Heritage Auctions recently sold a club butt fowler signed B. Homer, making this pistol a New England flintpistol. Shortened brass barrel with no proofs. Lock with border engraving, hammer engraved en suite at tail of lock. Two screws in lock, single New England style side plate holding one side nail. Form of pistol classic New England third/fourth quarter 18th century. Small brass thumb piece. Kentucky style butt cap and trigger guard of brass. All small parts appear to be original. COBNDITION: Appears to be untouched throughout. Action is sticky. Bore is good. Ramrod replaced. A classic New England flintlock pistol, shortened during the period.
