Accompanied by a Gubelin Gemlab gemstone report number 0909794, dated October 6, 2009, stating Origin: Burma, Enhancement: No indications of heating. Accompanied by a GRS gemstone report number GRS2010-092139, dated September 20, 2010, stating Origin: Burma, Enhancement: No indications of thermal treatment. Accompanied by a fitted case. 18.80 dwts. Estimate $ 50,000-70,000 One of the drops in the fringe is missing a single small rose cut diamond. The reverse of the central section has a brooch clasp but the remaining brooch fittings are missing. Gem Characteristics (graded in setting) NOTE: for further information on the ruby, please refer to the accompanying Gubelin and GRS certificates available from the Fine Jewelry Department. Color The ruby is red in hue (described as the optimal "pigeon's blood" in the GRS report), slightly dark medium in tone and strong in saturation. Inclusions The stone has a typical Mogok scene with scattered unaltered euhedral crystals and two main "nests" of rutile, one under the center of the table and one under the upper left corner of the crown which lend a somewhat more "sleepy" aspect to these areas. There are several feather/fractures penetrating vertically (visible at surface in reflected light) into the stone throught the table and crown, none are highly reflective. There is a feather/fracture penetrating almost horizontally into the crown at the lower left with subtle iridescence at certain angles. Minor naturals/cavities in the pavilion which is full and not flattened. Diamonds Color: G-L, majority H-J Clarity: VS1-SI2, majority of larger stones VS Cut: Fair to Very Good Condition: scattered stones with minor to moderate edge wear at 10X magnification
