A Bracket Clock Meiji Period (late 19th Century) With gilded brass front and back plates chased with peony sprays and four turned corner pillars, a shallow bell and a fixed pointer; the face a rotating brass dial with the Chinese characters 9 to 4 engraved on adjustable plates and the Arabic numerals 1 to 12 engraved in a circle inside the Chinese, above the dial two square openings for the date in Chinese characters; in a wood casing glazed and resting on a low wood base; a brass loop handle on the top of casing; in running condition Clock 4½ x 3.11/16 x 2in. (11.4 x 9.3 x 5.1cm.)
