Nico was built in 1945 by The Shipbuilding Corporation Ltd (Tyne branch) Newcastle, with a tonnage of 5,193, launched 28th November 1944 and completed February 1945 in yard no. 10. She was ordered for The Ministry of War Transport and called Empire Morley, managed by Headlam & Son, Whitby. After undergoing a number of name changes she was sold to Compania Maritima Azores S.A. (G. S. Embiricos) Liberia and renamed Nico. She was broken up by Fukada Salvage Co., Japan in June 1969
