A Cased, Deluxe Factory Engraved Starr Arms Co. Model 1863 Revolver, Serial No. 29713, circa 1864 round barrel with fore-sight, marked STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK. on left-side of frame and STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15. 1856. on right-side, number 3 stamped on loading-lever, elaborately engraved with robust scrolls highlighted by stippled back-grounds, the barrel with engraved muzzle border, the case-hardened hammer with fine scrolls and fish-scales on hand-checkered spur, cylinder with scroll-engraving en suite, bright-blued finish overall, deluxe varnished walnut grip, contained within a mahogany case partitioned and lined in purple velvet and equipped with wood-handled single-cavity bullet mold with sprue-cutter, fine powder flask with embossed motif of peacock on a fluted column above which appear two crossed revolvers, jappaned tin of percussion caps (appears unopened) with orange paper labels ANTICORROSIVE PERCUSSION / CAPS. / Warranted / not to miss fire nor / fly to pieces / ELEY BROS. / Manufactueres / LONDON., two pewter oil-vessels (one: G & J.W. / HAWKSLEY and the other: JAMES.DIXON./ & SONS / SHEFFIELD), blued L-shaped nipple-wrench, and case key 8-inch barrel An estimated 32,000 were produced of which very few were engraved.
