A Chinese bronze ritual wine flask and cover, Bianhu, Han Dynasty, of flattened oval form with attractive green patination, the cover with label for Burlington Fine Arts Club Exhibition of Chinese Art, and other exhibition labels for Cape Town 1953, Radcliffe collection 'J1' and BADA, approximately 18.5cm high x 17cm wide x 6.5 cm deep, 1,049 grams Provenance: Major Edward Copleston Radcliffe (1898-1967) collection and by family descent. Listed in the family archive as 'J1' and bought by Bluetts on behalf of Major Radcliffe from Sotheby's, The Property of Professor J. Norman Collie, F.R.S (decd.), 8th April 1943, lot 167, for £54.00 Exhibited: According to the Sotheby's catalogue of 1943, Burlington Fine Arts Club, 1915, case H, no.7, p.59 National Gallery of South Africa, Chinese Exhibition, Cape Town, 1953, no. 208 Illustrated: Albert J.
