A Chinese Cloisonne enamel mounted Zitan and Huanghuali 'ruyi' sceptreQianlong period the sceptre finely carved with a curved shaft leading to a ruyi head, decorated in relief with wutong and pine trees, the head inset with a brightly-enamelled circular cloisonné enamel panel containing peaches, bat, double coins and a wan symbol, the lower panel containing further peaches, the central rectangular section set with a pair of upright plantain leaves, 41cm longFootnotes清乾隆 紫檀黃花梨嵌銅胎掐絲琺瑯如意 Ruyi sceptres of zitan and huanghuali wood inlaid with panels of cloisonné enamel are rare.
