Gordon Paul, Summer Session 1926, James Burnet M.D. Lecturer’, 48mm., bronze, in Restall, Birmingham case of issue; Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast, Sir William Thomson Memorial Medal, for Proficiency in Medicine, unnamed, 58mm., bronze; United Hospitals Athletics Club London Medallion, obv. figures in classical garments, enclosed by shields, 70mm., bronze, unnamed, in Mappin & Webb, London case of issue; Guy’s Hospital Athletics Club Medallion, 44mm., bronze, in Alexander Clark, London case of issue; Bridewell Royal Hospital Coronation Medallion 1902, 38mm., bronze; General Hospital Birmingham Bicentenary Medallion 1979, 39mm., silver base metal; masonic medal; nurses waist belt with silver fittings; book: Morton, Honnor, How to Become a Nurse, London, 3rd edition, 1895, xiii, 209pp., original (but scruffy) boards, medallions generally extremely fine (lot) £40-60 Footnote Robert Gordon Paul qualified as a L.R.C.P., L.R.C.S. Edinburgh; L.R.F.P.S. Glasgow 1927 and F.R.C.S. Edinburgh in 1931. He was Consultant Surgeon to the United Bristol Hospitals, Cossham Hospital and Devizes & District Hospital and was Lecturer in Operational Surgery at Bristol University. He was sometime Brigadier Consultant Surgeon to the South Army, India Command. A Beaverbrook Research Fellow, University of Bristol, 1934-35; he was a Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain.
