With 39 1/2 in. 72 caliber two-stage barrel. Round front section with silver sight. The octagonal breech with top flat engraved WATKEYS NEW YORK. Tower private proofs. Fluted breechblock with engraved tang. Flat lockplate with foliate scroll and border engraving signed WATKEY. Sunken tail and beveled edge. Gold touch hole. Walnut two-piece full stock with raised shell carving around tang. Silver furniture with foliate scroll and border engraving including turned ramrod pipes, sideplate, triggerguard and acorn finial. Buttplate with pierced upper tang and flower finial. Oval escutcheon with intertwined 'GD' monogram. Iron ramrod with trumpet head. Condition: Good. Barrel and lock with heavy brown patina. Wood with mars and wear. Fore-end with iron reinforcement. Buttstock possibly replaced during its working lifetime. Silver with tarnish. Cock repaired and possibly replaced.
