A 'DIEPPE IVORY' ARCHITECTURAL CABINET ON STAND, carved and engraved all over, the cabinet surmounted by a crenelated cornice and eight tapering finials, fitted with seven concealed drawers, the front centred by an arch carved with beasts, flanked by panels of warriors and numbered busts of worthies, centred by a pierced arch below, the back with a trefoil arch and similarly carved with busts and panels, the sides similarly decorated, on a rectangular plinth engraved with foliage and geometric motifs, the base with a trailing foliate carved edge above egg-and-dart and arcaded mouldings, on four square tapering legs, headed with panels of classical emperors, with panels of eagles below, the legs with brick ornament and fluted corners, with shaped 'X' stretcher, on block feet (damage and losses) second half 19th century the cabinet: 25¼in.
