A DIRECTOIRE ORMOLU, BRASS AND PATINATED BRONZE-MOUNTED THUYA BUREAU PLAT ATTRIBUTED TO PIERRE-PHILIPPE-THOMIRE AND ADAM WEISWEILER LATE 18TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY SUPPLIED BY THE MARCHAND-MERCIER DOMINIQUE DAGUERRE The gilt-tooled green leather-lined eared rectangular top above a frieze fitted with three short panelled drawers with stiff-leaf cast surrounds to the front, three simulated drawers to the back, and a conformingly-lined writing slide to each side, on lion monopodiae supports headed by Egyptian winged female sphinxes 30¼ in.
