A Dutch-engraved composite-stemmed betrothal goblet Engraved by Jacob Sang signed and dated, Amsterdam, 1760 The funnel bowl engraved with a dextrarum iunctio scene of a lady and a gentleman clasping their right hands and holding a ring surmounted with billing doves, above an altar with two burning hearts, on a chequered floor, a radiant All-Seeing Eye within a triangle emanating from clouds above, the reverse with the inscription DE HUWELYKS BANDT, BINDT HART EN HANDT (The bond of marriage ties heart and hand), the stem with an airtwist inverted double-knopped section above a plain inverted baluster section enclosing an elongated tear, the conical foot signed and dated in diamond-point Jacob Sang inv = et Fec = Amsterdam, 1760 20.7 cm. (8 1/8 in.) high
