A FINE AND RARE GUAN-TYPE LONGQUAN CELADON VASE, GUANERHU SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY Of circular section, the pear-shaped body of bronze form, surmounted by the gently waisted neck set with a pair of small cylindrical lug handles between the single raised "bow string" band encircling the shoulder and the double band below the flared mouth, all springing from a low, spreading foot, covered allover inside and out in a lustrous, thick pale sea-green glaze with widely spaced craquelure, some, but not all, crackles stained a golden brown, the footrim unglazed and showing the pale gray body burnt orange in the kiln, the luting line visible on the inside above the widest part of the body--10¼in. (26.1cm.) high
