A FINE FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD, SATINE AND STAINED FRUITWOOD MARQUETRY AND PARQUETRY MEUBLE D'APPUI IN THE MANNER OF JEAN-HENRI RIESENER BY FRANCOIS LINKE, INDEX NUMBER 1437, PARIS, EARLY 20TH CENTURY The breakfront fleur de pêcher marble top above a conforming foliate-scrolled frieze and egg-and-dart edge, signed F. Linke to the right edge of the frieze molding, the central cupboard door headed by a ribbon-tied bas-relief medallion depicting cavorting putti, the door inlaid with a fruit and flower-filled vase still-life, the interior enclosing a single adjustable shelf, flanked on each side by lozenge parquetry panels, suspended floral garlands and seated Bacchic putti, foliate-clasped angles headed by berried rosettes, the sides set with lozenge parquetry panels within a bead-molded encadrements , over a breakfront apron applied to the front with pierced acanthus scrolls, raised on foliate-capped toupie feet, the lock stamped CT LINKE SERRURERIE A PARIS 1437 44 7/8 in.
