A FINE PAIR OF FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS BY DURS EGG LONDON, CIRCA 1805 Each with browned twist octagonal sighted barrel with two gold-inlaid lines, three gold-lined fleur-de-lys and a gold-lined maker's stamp at the breech, gold-lined touch-hole, tang engraved with foliage and a martial trophy, signed engraved case-hardened flat bevelled detented lock with sliding-tail safety-catch, gold-lined semi-rainproof pan and roller, adjustable set trigger, well figured walnut half-stock with chequered butt, the latter with contemporary iron-bound aperture for an attachable shoulder-stock, engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard retaining some original blued finish to the inside, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, gold escutcheon engraved with the Murray family 'Wild Man' crest, and later ramrods, retaining some original finish throughout, London proof marks 15 ¼ in. (38.7 cm.) overall
