A finely carved Japanese ivory okimono, 19th century. Of typical netsuke proportions depicting two Samurai, one figure standing whilst playing a woodwind instrument, the other figure kneeling behind with one hand grasping the tsuka and the other the saya. 2 in (5 cm) height.
