A FIVE PIECE SILVER TEA AND SERVICE ON A TWO HANDLED SILVER PLATED TRAY, the service maker's mark of Durgin, retailed by Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co., the tray Gorham, comprising tea kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, two handled open sugar basin, cream jug and waste bowl, each, broadly lobed urn form, lobes repeated on spreading circular base, broad collar and covers, the mid section chased with undulating lush foliate scrolls with anthemion at intervals, the collar chased with ribbon tied berried laurel swags, with berried laurel and reeded moldings, the pots with partly fluted and decorated spout, elaborate scroll handle, the hinged partly domed cover topped by acanthus bud finial-- tea kettle on stand over swing handle 16in. (40.6cm.) high , the broad rounded rectangular tray with molded border with two cut outs for handles, the shaped rim with blossoms and scrolls at intervals-- 28in. (71.1cm.) long, the silver gross weight 251oz. (6)
