A Four-Case Lacquer Inro Edo period (18th-19th century), signed Moei (Nakaoji Moei) and sealed Moei Of oval section and lacquered in gold, silver and black togidashi against a glossy roiro-nuri ground with kinpun and mura-nashiji with an otter swimming underwater past an abalone shell, the animal's claws rendered in black hiramaki-e , the interiors black lacquer with fundame rims 3 1/8in. (7.8cm.) long
