A FRANKENTHAL LARGE GROUP OF 'L'AGREABLE LECON' OR 'DER FLOTENUNTERRICHT' CIRCA 1759, BLUE RAMPANT LION MARK, INCISED JH.Z.7 Modelled by Johann Friedrich Lück , with a young man in a black-edged pale-orange and puce-scale jacket and breeches, seated beside an overturned basket of flowers and teaching a shepherdess to play the flute, she in black hat and apron, white blouse tied with puce ribbons, blue flowered overskirt and puce underskirt and seated on a grassy mound, a recumbent goat at their feet, all within an elaborate pierced rococo-scroll arbour enriched in gilding, on a green mound base applied with foliage and with scroll-moulded white and gilt edges (minor restoration to his hat, basket, horn of goat, flower and foliage, scrolls, flute, end of her crook and ribbons, disguised extending firing crack to base behind goat) 13 in. (33 cm.) high
