A French travelling boxed tête-à-tête Circa 1780, the porcelain with a gilt B mark to all pieces and incised S to the teapot The two-handled rectangular brass-mounted mahogany box with leather cover and pink silk-lined fitted interior, containing: A Paris (probably Boissettes) porcelain tea-service painted with a garland of blue corn-flowers and gilt berried foliage between twisted bands of gilt stylised foliage and puce drapery, gilt line rims, the scroll handles and spout enriched in gilding, gilt fruit finial to the sugar-box and stylised pine-cone finial to the teapot, comprising: a cylindrical teapot and cover (chip to flange of cover), a milk-jug, a sugar-bowl and cover (rim chip and hairline crack to bowl), two coffee-cans and saucers (hairline crack to one can, footrim chip to one saucer and the other can); the composite and associated French faceted glass with gilt rims, comprising: a bottle and stopper (ground chip to neck, very minute chips to the stopper), a funnel (very minor rim chips), two cylindrical glasses (very minute chips to rim); and two associated silver teaspoons The box 14in.
