No. 678 The case with gilt-metal foliate-tide D-ended handle to the inverted bell top, later pierced ebony sound fret to the front door rail, foliate cast gilt-metal escutcheons, break-arch glazed sides, the moulded base on block feet, the 5½in. x 6½in. dial signed Geo; Graham, London at the top flanked by subsidiary silvered rings for strike/silent and pendulum regulation (later hand), silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring and lozenge half hour markers and pierced blued steel hands, the finely matted centre with mock pendulum and calendar aperture with pin-hole adjustment, later foliate spandrels, latches to the dial feet and to the seven pillars of the movement with twin chain fusees, silent verge escapement, internal rack strike on a large bell with pull quarter repeat on Tompion's system from either side by inter-connecting steel levers, the backplate signed Geo;Graham, London within a foliate cartouche beneath an engraved mask supporting a basket of fruit and within further scrolling foliage, the backplate punch numbered 678 in the usual place at the base; similarily engraved movement securing brackets 14¼in.
