A George II walnut and crossbanded side table or lowboy, circa 1735, 71.5cm high, 80.5cm deep, 51cm deep Condition Report: Mark, scratches and abrasions, old chips and splits. Some old repairs including a very well executed and disguised old repair to one rear foot. Some use of filler/ colouring to disguise old splits as often seen. Cleaned, restored condition The handles are original or are atleast of mid 18th century period and use the same holes as the originals. There are no alternate holes for handles. Oak drawer linings, there are some old stains as expected to the drawer linings. Some old worm damage to a relatively minor extent for age, this is mainly only visible upon closer inspection of the rear legs and adjacent timber. The damage does not weaken the overall structure of elements and there are no resultant fragmentary losses. An attractive an useful table of pleasing proportions.
