A George III composite four-piece tea-service The teapot, sugar-box and cream-jug, mark of Robert Jones London, the teapot, 1797, the sugar-box and cream-jug, 1798, the stand, with defaced maker's mark, London, 1798 Comprising teapot and stand, cream-jug and sugar-box, each shaped oval with partlY-fluted sides, bright-cut engraved with wrigglework and diaperwork borders, foliate scrolls, pendant garlands and vacant floral and foliate cartouches, the teapot with plain angular spout, wooden handle, and hinged slightly domed cover with wooden finial, the sugar-box with two ring handles and detachable cover with urn finial, the cream-jug with hinged slightly domed cover with urn finial, the similar teapot stand of conforming shape and similarly engraved, with four ball feet, marked on base of teapot, sugar-box and stand, side of cream-jug, and inside covers the teapot, 6¼in. (16cm.) high gross 46oz. (1,456gr.) (4)
