A George III small mahogany month duration longcase regulator Bartholomew Devis, London. Circa 1800 The case with raised rectangular panel to the plinth supported on a double skirt, shallow-arched rectangular trunk door, the hood with conforming arch and fluted chamfered front angles, the 10 in. wide engraved and silvered dial with subsidiary seconds, cut steel hands and signed Bartholomew Devis/LONDON to the shallow arch, the single train movement with five baluster pillars, fine wheel work with high count train, bolt and shutter maintaining power and Vulliamy-type dead beat escapement; steel rod pendulum with engraved calibrated rating nut below the brass cased bob, brass cased weight, crank winding key, case key 77 in. (195 cm.) high
