CIRCA 1820 CASE : gadrooned top with pineapple finial, acroteria to front angles above brass Egyptian herms with painted hieroglyphics above scroll volutes, pierced brass side frets, the base with ripple moulded panel, gadrooned bracket feet DIAL: 7¼ in. diameter white painted dial, strike/silent to XII, signed 'Alexander Straiton/LONDON', blued steel moon hands MOVEMENT : twin chain fusees with anchor escapement, rack strike and trip repeat on bell, engraved border to back plate with repeat signature; engraved micrometer pendulum, winding key, two case keys 20 in.
