A GEORGE IV GOLD SNUFF-BOX BY JOSEPH WILLIMORE (FL. 1798-1843), MARKED, WITH THE ENGLISH POST-1824 STANDARD MARK FOR 18 CARAT GOLD, THE BIRMINGHAM ASSAY MARK FOR 1824-1849, THE BIRMINGHAM DATE LETTER FOR 1829/1830 AND THE ENGLISH DUTY MARK FOR GOLD 1829-1831 rectangular box, the hinged cover, sides and base with engine-turning, the cover centred by a circular reserve engraved with a coat-of-arms, the interior of the cover engraved with a presentation inscription, applied foliate thumbpiece 2 7/8 in. (73 mm.) wide 3 oz. (93 gr.) The coat-of-arms are those of Bradock. The presentation inscription reads, 'This Small Token of Respect is Presented to James Bradock, Esquire by a few friends 1829'
