A GEORGE V SIX-PIECE SILVER TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE Maker's mark of Crichton Bros., London, 1915, the teapot 1913 Comprising hot-water kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, squat spouted, slightly tapering coffee pot, two-handled covered sugar bowl, cream jug and waste bowl, in the Georgian style, each inverted pear form, on side engraved with mirror cypher monogram within circular foliate scroll cartouche, the shoulder flat-chased and engraved with rocaille shells and scrolls, the spouts and handle joins with scalework, scroll and rocaille decorated joins, the pots with straight spout, teapot, wood loop handle, coffee pot with scroll handle and hinged molded low domed cover, the other pots with hinged flat cover, all decorated and topped by wood button finial, the kettle on twice pinned circular stand on three multi-scroll supports with openwork floral festoon centering mask apron between-- kettle on stand over part wood swing handle 15in. (38.1cm.) high, gross weight 175oz. (6)
