A German 9½-inch celestial table globe, ERNST SCHOTTE & Co., late 19th Century the globe made-up of twelve engraved gores to the celestial polar calottes, the equator and equinoctial colure graduated, the eliptic graduated with the houses of the Zodiac, the tropics and poles delineated, the constellations depicted by mythical beasts and figures and scientific instruments, with graduated brass meridian sphere, and applied paper horizon graduated with compass points, months of the year and houses of the zodiac, mounted atop a ebonised turned tripod base with fold-out compass and gilded brass claw feet 20¼in.
