A German engraved goblet 1725-1750, FOR THE DUTCH MARKET The funnel bowl with an altar of Love supporting two burning hearts, an eagle with outstretched wings and upholding a wedding ring, flanked by an anchor of Fidelity, upon a trellised garlanded bracket flanked by flower branches, the reverse inscribed Het. Aen. Stande. Houwlyk , sic., 'the forthcoming wedding', the multi-knopped stem enclosing an elongated tear, conical folded foot 18.3 cm. high
