A GERMAN SILVER-HILTED SMALL-SWORD FOR A CHILD, the blade of flattened-diamond section, the hilt cast and chased in relief with trophies of arms, equestrian combat scenes and profile heads, the shell struck with marks of Augsburg and of the silversmith Philipp Jakob I Jäger, the wooden grip bound with silver wire, circa 1740; and a transitional small-sword, with slender blade with inscribed central fuller on each face of the forte (inscription illegible), iron hilt comprising arched quillons with dolphin-head terminals, quillon block chiselled with a profile head on each side, oval side-ring with central moulding flanked by chiselled leaves, compressed pommel chiselled with a flower on each side, and wire-bound wooden grip, circa 1660, probably Dutch 14¼in. and 33in. blades (2)
