A German silver soup tureen and cover Mark of Christian Friedrich Herold, Köningsberg, 1751 Spirally fluted shaped circular and on spreading foot, the bombé shaped body with two drop ring handles applied to rocaille panels, the detachable domed cover with lemon finial, the body with later inscription, the base prick engraved with initials ' G F v G , marked on base and prick engraved with scratch weight 'Wigt 321 Schot', the cover with later Prussian control mark 31.5 cm. wide 2,558gr. The later inscription reads ' Diese Schüssel ist ein Geschenk Friedrichs des Grossen an den Zietenhusaren-Rittmeister von Prittwitz, für die Errettung in der Schlacht bei Kunersdorf am 12/8 1759. Am 20.11.1911 in den Besitz des Rittmeisters d.R.a.D. Kommerzienrat Otto Bestehorn, Aschersleben übergegangen '.
