A GREEK PARCEL GILT SILVER RHYTON Hellenistic Period, Circa 1st Century B.C. The slender horn-shaped vessel terminating in a goat protome, the join masked by a thin, ribbed cuff, the goat with gilt foliate ornament, convex eyes beneath ridged brows, tall ears and large backward-curving horns, a small spout between the forelegs, with a gilt six-petalled calyx of Seleucid acanthus and lanceolate leaves on the lower part of the horn, and a gilt garland below the flaring rim 13 in. (33 cm.) long
