A group of eleven ojime, 19th Century nine of ivory: the first of Shibayama-style, drum-shaped and inlaid in coral, metal, enamel and aogai; six mice, eyes inlaid in coral and horn; round and carved with six masks including Okame, Tengu, Hannya, Ebisu and Okina; another, similar with Noh and Kyogen masks; carved in relief with six Chinese sages; three bats in flight, eyes inlaid; a little boy, the himotoshi carved so that he holds on tightly to the cord with hands and feet; the three mystic apes seated with their backs against each other, signed Ikkosai; of marine ivory carved with a farmer clambering onto a large pine tree, signed Yukikazu; of wood and lacquer in guri; and the last of resin with two rabbits against waves and beneath the full moon -- 10/16in.
