A GROUP OF MAINLY ROMAN CORNELIAN INTAGLIOS AND SILVER RINGS CIRCA 1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D. Comprising seven silver rings, two with fragmentary hoops, set with intaglios of Diana with a quiver and bow, a leaping hound at her feet; Athena wearing crested helmet and holding a spear, her shield beside her, a dimunitive figure of Victory with wreath in her outstretched hand; enthroned Zeus with an eagle at his feet; Fortuna holding a cornucopia, steering rudder and ear of corn; a recumbent antelope; one of clear glass with a profile human bust, all mainly 1st-2nd Century A.D.; an Islamic ring with rectangular bevelled intaglio, 12th-13th Century A.D.; eleven Roman oval intaglios with profile radiate bust of Sol; draped profile bust of Artemis with a spray of laurel in front and a quiver behind; winged Victory holding a steering rudder; another of Victory with a rudder and two ears of corn; winged Eros; a satyr holding a grape bunch and lagobolon behind; another, similar, holding out a grape bunch and a rabbit jumping up; a warrior with crested helmet, spear, shield and scabbard; two goats flanking a tree; a standing draped woman with two long plaits holding out a fillet and crescent, a star in the field, all 1st-2nd Century A.D.; and an Achaemenid bronze ring, the engraved bezel with a horned animal, circa 4th Century B.C.
