A GROUP OF THIRTY EIGHT SILVER-MOUNTED GLASS, STONEWARE AND HARDSTONE MATCH-STRIKERS VARIOUS DATES AND MAKERS, MOSTLY LATE VICTORIAN OR EDWARDIAN Comprising 5 very large examples, 6 more similar but smaller, all with reeded glass including one with a navette reserve and one with a plain band decorated with reeded bars, 4 stoneware examples, two hardstone examples, one London, 1897, the other a combination match-striker and ashtray, Birmingham, 1901, one with crackled glass, two green-flashed examples, a blue-flashed example on clear glass ashtray base, 2 frosted glass examples, a thistle-shaped match-striker, another of cube form with reeded sides, star-cut base ansd circular aperture, and 13 others including three combination match-stikers/ashtrays, of which one is all silver, Birmingham,1908 and one in reeded glass with the match-holder rasised above on three wirework supports, Birmingham, 1898 Largest 5 in. high (12.5 cm.)
