Beschreibung:

Cataloged from 1878 to 1908, this was the pinnacle of the large frame single action revolver. This revolver is in factory nickel finish with case colored hammer and trigger guard, and beautiful diamond checkered walnut grips. Has factory lanyard ring hole indicated by full serial number with space for hole in middle; lanyard missing. Matching serial numbers on latch, barrel, cylinder and frame (two). Barrel retains approximately 95% factory nickel with the balance blending to gun metal grey. Frame retains approximately 97% factory nickel. Cylinder retains 95% factory nickel with some light burn. Fine fire blue on latch. Strong case colors on side of hammer and trigger guard. Tip-up has the ratchet gears. Razor sharp dates and legends with no nickel inside stampings. There is a star at the end of the serial number which would indicate return to factory. There is a return date stamped inside grip frame 8-24. Everything is sharp as new, including sideplate, which might indicate simple return for repair, as there are no signs the revolver was ever factory refinished. Grips are near mint. Strong, clean bore with some frosting and minor black powder abrasion. Perfect action and tight as new lock-up. Beautiful, extremely high condition New Model No. 3 that has seen little use. Factory letter states that this gun was shipped October 22nd, 1880 to Don Jose Vallro, N.Y.C. for shipment to Cuba. Shipped as 6-1/2", nickel with checkered walnut. Name Value Manufacturer Smith & Wesson Model 3 Serial Number 12758 Caliber .44 Russian Barrel Length 6 - 1/2" FFL Status Antique Paperwork Yes
