A Japanese Cloisonné Koro [Incense Burner] Meiji period (late 19th century) The lobed body on four sculpted feet, finely worked in various thicknesses of silver wire with two opposing panels depicting ho-o birds beside a flaming pearl against a dark blue ground, the opposite side with two dragons against a dark green ground, each panel surrounded by ornate scrolling and geometric patterns, the feet decorated with stylised butterfly wings and peacock feathers, the cover pierced with clouds and decorated with further ho-o birds, stylised flowers and butterflies, two applied archaic style handles, copper gilt liner, carved wood stand with flowers and scrolling foliage 21.1cm. high (excluding stand)
