A JAPANESE LACQUER 'CHAIRE' TEA CONTAINER EDO PERIOD (1603-1868), 18TH/19TH CENTURY The ovoid jar decorated with cherry blossom and maple leaves amongst waves in gold lacquer on a black lacquer ground. The interior of the lid and base decorated with nashiji gold lacquer. 8cm high, 6cm diameter Estimate $500-700 Condition: Rubbing to the lacquer finish in places. Very small chips to the edges.
