A Japanese lacquered cabinet on an English giltwood stand the cabinet circa 1700, the stand George I, circa 1720 the engraved copper-gilt-mounted cabinet decorated on all sides including the rear panel with stylised landscapes including trees, mountains and pavilions with rivers and wild-life with aventurine borders throughout, the interior with an arrangement of ten drawers with conforming decoration, with some possible later japanned embellishment, the stand, in the manner of James Moore the frieze with acanthus leaves, strapwork and stylised shells on a hatched ground, the cabriole legs with Indian masks adorned with foliate head-dresses and leafy `beards', on conforming pad feet, the stand re-gilded 161cm. high, 99cm. wide, 57cm. deep; 5ft. 3 ¼ in., 3ft. 2 ¾ in., 1ft. 10 ½ in.
