The Smithsonian Museum in New York has a spectacular unmounted example of 880 carats which is thought to be the largest faceted specimen in the world. The Smithsonian also have a 396ct kunzite which, like lot 528, is mounted in a pendant on a cultured pearl necklace and designed by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co. The kunzite in lot 528 is believed to be the largest mounted quality example in the world.
