A LARGE AND FINELY CAST GOLD-SPLASHED BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER 18TH/19TH CENTURY Supported on three elephant-head feet and with a pair of similar elephant-head handles, the sides cast in high relief on one side with a pair of sinuous dragons confronting a flaming pearl and on the reverse with a phoenix perched on a blossoming peony branch, the pierced cover cast with lotus scroll below a recumbent caparisoned elephant supporting on its back a large bowl piled high with auspicious objects, the base cast with six-character Xuande mark 22¾ in. (57.8 cm.) high
