Beschreibung:

late 20th century (?) made in the Indian sub-continent as a reproduction (?), in patinated brass, the plane of the ecliptic stamped 'REMO SABATINI FECE 1885' with all rings named in Italian, the celestial equator stamped with the signs of the zodiac, rings for North and South poles and Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, brass sun globe and rings for the eight planets, the sphere mounted on an ornate cast brass tripod base, the sphere 44cm in diameter, the base 38cm high.
Condition Report: One ring (circle of latitude) is fractured where it would be attached to the base, the cross-ring also needs re-brazing at this point. The nut securing the sphere to the base is missing, otherwise the instrument appears complete. Please see online images.
