A LARGE PAIR OF QIANJIN AND TIANQI LACQUER BALUSTER VASES QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) The vases are decorated to each side with two colourfully robed boys in a garden setting with pine trees, peonies, prunus and bamboo, variously playing games with bats and musical instruments, all within shaped cartouches bordered by leafy scrolls and cornered with chilongs , on a finely incised geometric ground. The mouth rim, shoulders and base are decorated with bands of bats and lappets and the neck is further embellished with the Flowers of The Four Seasons, and rocks. 23 ¼ in. (59 cm.) high
