A large Thai gilt-bronze head of Buddha, 17th/18th Century his face with meditative expression, the hair arranged in rows of snail shell curls, the flame finial for insertion into the domed usnisa now missing, the eye sockets with inset mother of pearl, traces of gilt-lacquer decoration to hair -- 16in. (40.6cm.) high, wood block stand.
