A Louis XV ormolu and patinated bronze Rhinoceros mantel clock attributed to Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain Paris, circa 1755 7½-inch enamel dial signed Charles Le Roy A Paris, finely pirecd and engraved gilt hands, the similarly signed movement with anchor escapement and silk suspension, numbered outside count wheel striking on a bell, flat-bottomed plates numbered 77, the drum surmounted by an oriental boy holding a parasol and mounted on the back of a well-modelled rhinoceros, the rocaille plinth cast with rococo scrolls,65cm. 25½in. highCondition reportDial in generally good condition, minor chips around both winding holes, good hands. Movement is complete and looks to be reasonably clean and as though it would run but may benefit from fresh oil. Case in good condition throughout retaining most of the original gilding and patination with some rubbing to high points, parasol is loose. With pendulum, winder and regulation key. "
