A LOUIS XVI MODEL NAPOLEONIC 12-POUNDER FIELD CANNON, CARRIAGE AND LIMBER BUILT ON THE GRIBEAUVAL SYSTEM LATE 18TH CENTURY Constructed to scale and highly detailed throughout, with plain moulded brass barrel, regulation 'ochre' green painted wooden carriage and limber, iron mounts including chained cap-squares, elevating screw, iron-shod spoked cambered wheels, ammunition chest, and some original accessories; and a French small model presentation cannon, late 18th century, with moulded brass barrel engraved with owner's coronet and coat-of-arms, the inscription 'ULTIMA RATIO REGUM' and with the inscription 'DONNÉ À M DE MIGNOT MAITRESSE DES COMPTES' on the underside, on a 19th century three-wheeled iron carriage The cannon - 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) long; the carriage - 28¾ in. (73 cm.) and 10 5/8 in. (27 cm.); together with a Louis XVI patinated-bronze model gun carriage with polished brass cannon, late 18th Century, the cannon cast with a Royal Coat of Arms and with inscription to the chase: 'ULTIMA-RATIO-REGUM-DONNE-AM-DE-MIGNOT-MAITRESSE-DES-COMPTES', the cannon - 7 in. (18 cm.) long; 11 in. (28 cm.) long overall (2)
