Beschreibung:

A massive pair of Chinese red and gold lacquer rectangular panels inlaid in jadeite, malachite, lapis, tigers eyes, nephrite and coral quartz, agate and other stones, and wood and lacquer with a standing shoulau holding a staff above a deer with peach sprays among pine branches and lingzhi issuing from rockwork, the other with Guanyin holding a ewer standing beside a pheonix of lingzhi sprays below fruiting peach branches and above chrysanthemums issuing from rockwork set within hardwood frames, on similar hardwood stands with inset panels similarly inlaid with hardstones depicting confronting Buddhist lions flanking a brocade ball, the borders carved with stylised dragons and flaming pearls on scrolling feet, the reverses painted with gilt with lions of archaic style calligraphy -- 89 in.
