A MEISSEN PORCELAIN ORNITHOLOGICAL COFFEE AND TEA SERVICE, gilt and painted in colours with various perched birds and insects after Eleazer Albin's 'Natural History of Birds', with rocaille spouts and handles in relief, comprising; - a baluster coffeepot with cover, decorated with beetles, butterflies, the domed cover applied with a flowerbud, circa 23.5 cm high - a baluster milkjug with cover, with double scroll handle, 15 cm high - a bun-shaped teapot with cover, with scroll handle, the spout as modelled as a grotesque beast, the small cover applied with a flowerbud, 10.5 cm high - a rectangular teacaddy with cover, with arched shoulders, the small cover applied with a flowerbud, circa 13 cm high - a circular sugarbowl with cover, the domed cover applied with a flowerbud, 11 cm high - a circular brothbowl, 16.5 cm high - a lozenge-shaped pattipan, 17.5 cm wide - six coffeecups and saucers - eight teacups and saucers (repair to brothbowl and to the handle of the milkjug), marked with blue crossed swords, various Pressnummern , circa 1745 See illustration (21)
