Date: 1708 Description: [8], xv, 248 + [24] pp. 31 engraved maps and figures, many fold-out. (8vo) crudely rebound in gilt-lettered modern morocco. First Edition. Beautiful engravings show the landscape, animals, plants, and people of the East Indies. The accompanying text contains "adventures in two Desert Islands, and an Account of the most Remarkable Things in Maurice Island, Batavia, at the Cape of Good Hope, the Island of St. Helena, and other places." Lot Amendments Condition: Morocco fine; half of text block detached from binding; some foxing and darkening of pages, a few small closed tears and tears to edges of pages and illustrations, some with tape repair, but illustrations are generally bright; good to very good.
