Property from a Distinguished Private Collection, Washington, D.C.A NORTH GERMAN NEOCLASSICAL BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE A CYLINDRE, CIRCA 1800 the back bearing a fragmentary 19th-century German railway labelheight 75 in.; width 46 ½ in.; depth 24 ½ in.190.5 cm; 118 cm; 62 cmCondition ReportScattered nicks, abrasions and losses commensurate with age, including along edges of pediment, front rail below lowest drawer and ram's heads. Vertical age splits to sides, and horizontal age crack to top of proper left central cupboard door, lifting slightly. Some tarnishing and indentations on brass inlaid border on cylinder front and brass edges of drawers, with some brass lifting on the side of one drawer. Handles probably replaced. Front section of side moulding above proper left ram's head loose and slightly lifting. Three dentils on internal pediment lacking, and small section (approx. 2 in.) of dentilated moulding lacking above proper right ram's head. Boards on back carcase of lower section have been shifted downwards approx. 4 in. to give access to back of cylinder construction. The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The
